Makar Sankranti is a national holiday in Telangana. The Board of Intermediate Education announced a break for intermediate colleges. Holidays will begin on the 11th of January and last until 16th of January. On Friday 17th January, classes will resume.
All junior colleges are included in this holiday. This includes all junior colleges, including government and private colleges. It also covers residential schools and social welfare or tribal welfare institutions, BC welfare institutes, Kasturba-Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas and model schools.

Tamil Nadu School Holidays 2025
Tamil Nadu, the state in South India has declared a 5-day school holiday to celebrate this wonderful festival. The festival of Pongal is very important to the Tamils. Pongal is a celebration of the Tamils’ culture.
