IPL 2025 Retention and Mega Auction Rules

In 2025, the IPL will feature a Mega Auction that gives teams an opportunity to revamp squads. Teams can strategically keep key players with the updated Retention Policy while using a revised Rs120 Cr purse limit for building competitive lineups. The franchises carefully plan their lineups to achieve a good balance between keeping core players and acquiring new talent.
Fans will look forward to the auction as they anticipate new combinations. It is important to prepare for the new football season by holding an auction. Star players might change teams, or young talent may get a chance..

IPL 2025 Schedule Conflicts and Challenges

The overlap between the 2025 PSL and the IPL this year creates conflicts in the schedules of players participating in both leagues. The IPL is traditionally held in Indian Summer, which runs from March until May. However, the overlap between the PSL and IPL could lead to uncertainty about player availability. BCCI works closely with the franchises, other cricket boards and players to ensure a smooth year.
