The Indian Premier League 2025 (also called IPL 18 or TATA IPL 2025) will be the 18th Edition of the Indian Premier League. This is a Twenty20 franchise cricket league in India organized by the Board of Control for Cricket in India. Ten teams will compete in 74 games from 21 March until 25 May, 2025.
The first edition will follow the unanimous election of Jay Shah as the Chairman of the International Cricket Council. V. He’ll begin in December 2024. Chamundeswaranath and CM Sane represent the Indian Cricketers’ Association and the nominee of Comptroller and Auditor General of India, respectively.
The teams will play twice each against their own group and then once again against four other teams from the opposite group. The top four teams, based on their aggregate score after the Group stage will be qualified for the Playoffs. The top two teams will compete against each other in a match called ” Qualifier 1″, while the two remaining teams play in a ” Eliminator”. The winner of the Qualifier match will directly qualify for the Final Match. However, the losing team can still qualify by playing against the team that won the Eliminator (in the match ” Qualifier 2). This Qualifier 2, the winner will advance to the Final Match. Indian Premier League will be awarded to the team who wins the final game.[6][7] The seedings of the group stages are still pending.
IPL 2025 Schedule – Full Match Schedule, Play-Offs
TATA IPL 2025 promises to be another exciting season of cricket. The tournament, which will feature 10 teams in a round robin format, followed by playoffs from March 21 to 25, 2025, features ten teams that compete against each other. The tournament will take place in conjunction with the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 as well as the Pakistan Super League which has been rescheduled to run from April to May instead of February.

IPL 2025 – Format of Tournaments and Locations
In 2025, the IPL will continue to follow its classic structure. Each team will face off against each other twice: once at home and again away. The top four teams will then advance to playoffs. The matches will take place in iconic stadiums across India, including Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium and Kolkata’s Eden Gardens. Bengaluru’s Chinnaswamy Stadium and Chennai’s Chepauk Stadium. There are both weekend and weekday games on the schedule, as well as double-header matches at certain times to accommodate fans.
A venue has not yet been announced for the grand finale, which will be held on May 25 2025. The BCCI wants to create another memorable cricket season by combining India’s rich culture with the electrifying sport.
